I wanted to do something long stemmed and lightweight.  I may put a slight bend in the stem but I am tempted to leave it straight as I think it will be comfortable enough due to it's thin bit.

Rex Walden Dark Bark Poker Tobacco Pipe handmade USA

Handmade in 2014. 5" in length, 3/4" chamber diameter over 2" deep. Has tree Bark finish that wraps  around the pipe and up over the rim, handcut stem, and made of aged briar. Flat bottom with nice grain.  Stamped Rex Walden Texas, comes with a handmade leather sheath. SOLD - shipped to NV

Custom Briar Poker Tobacco Pipe by Rex Walden "Thor's Hammer" USA

This was a recent commissioned pipe from a customer in Canada.  The briar block had a nice plateaux feature on top of it, so I tried my best to keep it by making the rim of the pipe smooth and using rustication with a light blast to give the pipe some contrast.  I had castle or fortress in my mind while shaping the pipe (hence the squarish shape), but after I posted some photos of it on Instagram one of my followers called it "Thor's Hammer", which I thought was a great name for the pipe.  The poker features a hand cut ebonite stem with a big round white dot inlay.  The bottom of the pipe was stained brown and shows off some nice grain.  This pipe has been sold and shipped to Alberta, Canada.

Made in 2014 Black briar Blockhead Poker tobacco pipe, rusticated with light sandblasted finish. Double black with Red smooth rim and bottom, walnut stem insert, and hand cut ebonite stem.
