Custom Briar Poker Tobacco Pipe by Rex Walden "Thor's Hammer" USA

This was a recent commissioned pipe from a customer in Canada.  The briar block had a nice plateaux feature on top of it, so I tried my best to keep it by making the rim of the pipe smooth and using rustication with a light blast to give the pipe some contrast.  I had castle or fortress in my mind while shaping the pipe (hence the squarish shape), but after I posted some photos of it on Instagram one of my followers called it "Thor's Hammer", which I thought was a great name for the pipe.  The poker features a hand cut ebonite stem with a big round white dot inlay.  The bottom of the pipe was stained brown and shows off some nice grain.  This pipe has been sold and shipped to Alberta, Canada.

Chubby Nosewarmer ZOMBIE Pipe by Rex Walden

Hey Brothers of Briar!

I have been wanting to do a fun pipe for a while now and while working on a chubby nose warmer style of pipe, I decided to go Zombie style with it.  One side is totally normal with birdseye and the other shows a wound complete with tendons and flesh, all carved out of briar of course.  I don't usually use blues and greens but decided to go for it.

This is a one of a kind handmade Giant Green Zombie briar pipe with hand cut ebonite stem. The pipe is 5" in length, 2 1/2" tall. Chamber is 3/4" in diameter and approx. 1 3/4" deep, and has plenty of heft to it, roughly the same weight as a full tin of tobacco (50 grams). Pipe is marked:
"Rex Walden"
"Texas"
"Z"
