Rex Walden Nose Warmer Tobacco Pipe with "crustacean rustication" crab lobster finish

Have not updated the website in a while and thought I would post a few pics of some pipes I have been working on.

This was made in Summer of 2014, really lightweight, and has a different style of rustication from shank to bowl.  I was shooting for something along the lines of Lobster or Crab shell and color.  Marked "Rex Walden Texas", hand cut ebonite stem.  It is currently available, so contact me if interested.

Regular Tadpole nose warmer bent tobacco pipe by Rex Walden

Another regular sized "tadpole" nose warmer with rustication.  By request, it has a lighter smooth rim and smooth accent piece on the bottom of the bowl which pronounces the tail that extends to the end of the shank.  The stains used on this pipe were "buckskin" and "tan".   Made in May 2014, stamped "Rex Walden" "Texas".  Sold and shipped to Istanbul, Turkey.

Custom Briar Poker Tobacco Pipe by Rex Walden "Thor's Hammer" USA

This was a recent commissioned pipe from a customer in Canada.  The briar block had a nice plateaux feature on top of it, so I tried my best to keep it by making the rim of the pipe smooth and using rustication with a light blast to give the pipe some contrast.  I had castle or fortress in my mind while shaping the pipe (hence the squarish shape), but after I posted some photos of it on Instagram one of my followers called it "Thor's Hammer", which I thought was a great name for the pipe.  The poker features a hand cut ebonite stem with a big round white dot inlay.  The bottom of the pipe was stained brown and shows off some nice grain.  This pipe has been sold and shipped to Alberta, Canada.
