Rex Walden Nose Warmer Tobacco Pipe with "crustacean rustication" crab lobster finish

Have not updated the website in a while and thought I would post a few pics of some pipes I have been working on.

This was made in Summer of 2014, really lightweight, and has a different style of rustication from shank to bowl.  I was shooting for something along the lines of Lobster or Crab shell and color.  Marked "Rex Walden Texas", hand cut ebonite stem.  It is currently available, so contact me if interested.

Made in 2013, rustic blasted bent prince shaped briar tobacco pipe. 6" in length, 7/8" chamber diameter and 2" deep. Reddish brown in color. Stamped "Rex Walden" and "Texas", comes with thick handmade leather pouch.

Black 1/4 Bent Blasted Custom Nosewarmer Tobacco Pipe by Rex Walden

This is a custom ordered 1/4 bent nosewarmer with black color, a light sandblasted finish, and natural smooth rim.  The ring or shank extension is made from Algerian briar.  Hand cut ebonite stem with big white dot inlay.  Made in June 2014, marked "Rex Walden" "Texas".  Shipped to Sweden.

Straight Grain Bent Prince Tobacco Pipe by Rex Walden

This was a beautiful piece a briar that I left natural for the finish.  The pipe is a thin walled feather-light prince shaped pipe with a gradual bend to the stem.  This pipe would be an ideal pipe for Virginia blends and has a large bowl at 7/8" width.  Stamped on bottom "Rex Walden" "Texas", made in 2013.  SOLD and shipped to Istanbul, Turkey.

Chubby Nosewarmer ZOMBIE Pipe by Rex Walden

Hey Brothers of Briar!

I have been wanting to do a fun pipe for a while now and while working on a chubby nose warmer style of pipe, I decided to go Zombie style with it.  One side is totally normal with birdseye and the other shows a wound complete with tendons and flesh, all carved out of briar of course.  I don't usually use blues and greens but decided to go for it.

This is a one of a kind handmade Giant Green Zombie briar pipe with hand cut ebonite stem. The pipe is 5" in length, 2 1/2" tall. Chamber is 3/4" in diameter and approx. 1 3/4" deep, and has plenty of heft to it, roughly the same weight as a full tin of tobacco (50 grams). Pipe is marked:
"Rex Walden"
"Texas"
"Z"

This is a new beautiful lightly rusticated Oom Paul shaped briar tobacco smoking pipe (newly made March 2014) with nice grain contrast. Handmade Briar Natural Rusticated Straight Billiard Pot Shape Tobacco Pipe by Rex Walden

This straight Billiard (some may also consider it a "Pot" shape) has a natural rusticated finish that will color nicely with handling and use. The pipe features a finished smooth rim and a finished "tag" area for my pipe maker markings that show off the grain. The pipe is 5.5 inches long, the bowl is 7/8" in diameter and just over 1 1/2" in depth. Pipe is marked "Rex Walden" and "Texas". Pipe comes with hand made denim pipe pouch. Large Straight Rusticated Apple Shape Briar Tobacco Pipe Handmade Orange Red By Rex Walden

This is a medium to large sized rustic looking straight apple hand made briar pipe. The pipe is 5 3/4" in length with a tobacco chamber 3/4' in diameter and over 1 1/2" in depth. The rim is finished smooth with a light to craggy rusticated exterior. Colors are light to deep orange and reds with black ebonite stem. Bowl is left natural for your choice of break-in method. Pipe is marked "Rex Walden" and "Texas" on bottom exterior of bowl. Pipe is a "sitter", if that is a consideration This pipe feels great to hold and is fairly lightweight for its size.
